PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Executive Editor, News & Strategy, Computerworld.com (April 2015-present).
In addition to overseeing the news team at Computerworld, responsibilities include strategizing with the Editor-in-Chief and other top IDG editors on ways to grow our website and online audience using data analytics and our understanding of the online news universe; working with features editors and the social media editor on story packaging and story promotion; working with our video team on a regular video podcast "Mingis on Tech."

Managing Editor, News, Computerworld.com (Dec. 2007-April 2015).
Responsibilities include oversight of news coverage at Computerworld, editing stories about the IT industry, publishing stories on Computerworld's Web site, oversight of Macintosh-related coverage and management of three news editors and, through them, nine reporters.

Online News Editor/Newsletter Editor, Computerworld.com (Feb. 2001-Dec. 2007).
Responsibilities include editing stories about the IT industry, publishing stories on Computerworld's Web site, preparing and editing online newsletters for e-mail distribution, oversight of Macintosh-related coverage and management of general assignment reporters. Duties include deadline preparation of content for Computerworld's two daily news feeds as well as for breaking news. Technical skills include familiarity with Quark, html, digital graphics, digital photography, digital audio and Web-related software such as Dreamweaver, Adobe GoLive, Homesite, Macromedia Flash, RealAudio and Photoshop.

Online News Editor, Boston.com (April 2000-Jan. 2001).
Responsibilities included managing a staff of 10 to 12 producers, interns and reporters in the preparation and presentation of content for Boston.com, the Web site of the Boston Globe. This included assigning stories and story packages, deciding where, how and when stories are posted, and hands-on editing. Much of the work was deadline oriented with an emphasis on breaking news and variety of content.

Online Reporter, Providence Journal (Nov. 1998-March 2000).
Responsibilities included daily reporting and posting of updates to the Providence Journal's web site, projo.com; preparation of major breaking news stories on deadline; completion of lengthier feature assignments; coordination with newsroom reporters to transfer print stories to the Web; and working with the online staff on various Web-related projects.

Providence City Hall reporter, (1991-98).
Responsibilities included daily coverage of Providence city government; local political races and elections; budget stories; urban trends; features; economic development; and occasional duties as Metro Edition editor.

Suburban News Bureau reporter (1984-91).
Assignments included a variety of beats and communities, writing about statewide issues, local government, politics, crime, technology and education. Requirements included deadline and developed stories, news and features, profiles, magazine stories, investigative stories, columns and out-of-town assignments.
